Make room for a different conversation
When home feels tense or communication breaks down, it can be difficult to know where to begin.
Is your home filled with shouting matches, constant tension where it feels like you’re walking on eggshells, stonewalling, and bitter defensiveness? Perhaps your family is dealing with a recent divorce, remarriage, death, or is coping with a recent crisis that has split the family apart. We are reminded that the family is the building block of society. The Catechism of The Catholic Church defines the family as, “the domestic church because the home is “the place where children receive the first proclamation of the faith. ... a community of grace and prayer, a school of human virtues and of Christian charity.””
Family counseling offers space to explore the patterns between you, hear one another more clearly, and work toward healthier ways of relating.
My approach draws on Family Systems Therapy, the Gottman Method Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy. These modalities allow me to focus on the emotional, relational, and spiritual dimensions of family life. Faith is integrated according to your preferences.
What we can work on
Communication
Many families struggle with ineffective communication, leading to misunderstandings and conflict. Family therapy helps identify communication patterns and teaches healthier ways to express thoughts and feelings.
Parenting Challenges
The vocation to be a father or mother is one of the most profound graces. It can be a struggle to know how to navigate every situation that we are placed in. In counseling, we can learn effective strategies to help you parent and shepherd your family by building a secure attachment with your spouse and children while maintaining healthy boundaries.
Conflict Resolution
Disagreements are a normal part of our fallen human existence. We will learn helpful skills to resolve conflicts in a constructive manner, build one another up, and learn how to compromise when needed.
Mental Health Struggles
Do you have a loved one who is struggling with their mental health and you don’t know how to help them? Therapy will equip you with the knowledge and skills to help your family navigate this struggle.
Life Transitions
Major life changes, such as divorce, remarriage, or the loss of a family member, can disrupt family dynamics. Therapy will afford you a safe and secure space to move from the initial shattering of grief toward a season of emotional and spiritual renewal.

Who can take part?
Family Counseling can be a time of healing for the family as they navigate generational wounds, learn healthy communication patterns, establish boundaries, and help the family move through life transitions and various stressors. My therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based family systems therapy with a Catholic understanding of the human person—recognizing that true healing involves the emotional, relational, and spiritual dimensions of your life.
I work with families, including those whose sessions may involve teens or older children. This is family counseling rather than a separate individual child-therapy service. We can discuss your family’s needs and who would participate during a consultation.
A path toward healing. Room to flourish.
You don’t need to have everything figured out. Let’s talk about what brings you here and how I might help.
